I have broken the cardinal rule when it comes to an ex. We tried to be friends. Normally, after a break up, I’m done, completely. This one was different though. We had been so close, closer than I had ever been to anyone. Well, yesterday, after not talking for a while, I decide to ask how she’s doing. I was being nice, genuinely hoping she was doing well, and keeping in mind and respecting the history we had and how you can’t just forget how they made you feel. Things go well, just idle chitchat about what’s new in our lives and such. She tells me of her crazy nights, in hopes of trying to make me jealous(it was an obvious ploy, seen it too many times), but I counter her attack by mentioning the new the new girl in my life. That’s when she really lays the tales of her “new life” on thick. Well, I abruptly stop the ridiculous chess match by not replying to her text because I then met up with my girlfriend. (I do not cheat, and this was not some kind of attempt at cheating, I also was not trying to hide anything, I just felt that my girlfriend deserved my undivided attention.) Well, after my girlfriend and I depart until next time, I text said ex to explain that I was busy with my girlfriend and all. That is where it gets hairy. It went from a cordial (although not without some mild friction due to an immature strike at provoking nonexistent feelings) to a bitch-fest on her part. She did a complete 360, fussing at me for simply trying to maintain a mature friendship, or if nothing else, a polite acquaintance. To this person, I have to ask, what the fuck is your problem? Why can’t you just grow the hell up, and carry on a regular conversation like a normal person?! Stop over analyzing!!! Things happened, we can’t change that. Quit being so friendly one minute, and bitch-mode the next!!! Grow up, suck it up, and just fucking decide what the hell you want!!!!! You are really making me regret everything I ever had with you.
